Box Office Buzz 🐝

A bunch of movies had some serious action at the box office this weekend.
"The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" came pretty close to hitting that sweet $100 million mark globally in its opening weekend—made around $98.5 million.
Surprisingly, it did better overseas than in the US, with strong openings in the UK, Germany, China, France, and Mexico.
"The Marvels" took a nosedive in its second weekend outside the US, while "Five Nights at Freddy’s" became the horror champ of 2023, raking in some serious dough.
Meanwhile, "Trolls Band Together" rocked it, passing the $100 million mark thanks to its rollout in different countries.
And hey, other movies like "Killers of the Flower Moon," "Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie," and "Thanksgiving" also made some noise.

Nolan's Warning: Movies at Risk of Vanishing 💥

Christopher Nolan talked about the risk of movies only being on streaming platforms during a chat about the home release of "Oppenheimer."
He mentioned a joke he made earlier about a streaming service taking projects away, but he's genuinely worried about movies disappearing from streaming sites without warning.
Nolan stressed the importance of physical copies, saying it's crucial for continuous access to films beyond streaming.
This comes at a time when titles have been vanishing from streaming platforms, sparking discussions about the future of accessing our favorite movies.

Bradley Cooper's “Maestro” 🎵
Bradley Cooper opened up about his six-year journey with "Maestro," where he not only wrote and directed but also starred as Leonard Bernstein.
He felt deeply connected to Bernstein, even though the maestro passed away in 1990.
Cooper's interest in Bernstein goes way back to childhood, and it wasn't just about the music legend but also his wife, Felicia Montealegre.
Carey Mulligan plays Montealegre in the film, and to prep for the role, Mulligan visited Montealegre's family in Chile.
The movie dives into Bernstein's personal life, including his relationship with David Oppenheim, portrayed by Matt Bomer. Bomer even provided handwritten copies of their letters for Cooper's research.
The movie hits theaters on November 22 and streams on Netflix from December 20.
