Robbie and Gosling Reunite for Ocean's 11 Prequel 🎰

Ocean's 11 fans, there's a prequel in the works, and it's got some star power! Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are teaming up again.

As for the plot, well, it's a bit of a mystery for now. The producer didn't spill the beans on that, but he did promise that they're going to do right by the Ocean's franchise.

This prequel has been in the works since last year, and it's set in 1960s Europe. Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerly are on board as producers, along with Roach and Michelle Graham. Village Roadshow might also help finance the project.

For those who love the Ocean's series, you'll know it all started with Steven Soderbergh in 2001, inspired by the 1960 Rat Pack film. The original was a big hit, grossing over $450 million worldwide.

After that, there were sequels and the 2018 release of Ocean's 8 with an all-star female cast. So, it's safe to say this prequel is in good company.

"Black Barbie: A Documentary" on Netflix will be, brought to you by Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland.

Directed by Lagueria Davis, this documentary delves into the introduction of the first Black Barbie by Mattel in 1980 and the incredible women who made it happen.

The film explores how representation and dolls can shape identity and imagination, celebrating the impact these remarkable women had on the evolution of the Barbie brand.

A preview of the documentary was shown at SXSW 2023, touching on crucial topics like Barbie vlogs addressing racism during the 2020 protests and efforts to give Black Barbie her own stories.

Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers are executive producers, and the deal was secured through Shondaland's partnership with Netflix.

Imax's Plan Falls Through ❌

Imax wanted to buy all the remaining shares of its Chinese branch, Imax China. But they needed the approval of the shareholders of Imax China to do that.

When they held the vote, most of the shareholders said, "Yeah, we're okay with this." In fact, about 70% of them were in favor.

But there's a rule in Hong Kong (where Imax China is traded) that says at least 10% of the shareholders need to say, "No, we don't want this," to stop the deal. More than 10% did say no, so the deal got blocked.

Imax had offered to buy the remaining shares for about $124 million, which was a pretty good deal, actually. Some important advisors said, "Go for it!" but a Canadian investment fund disagreed.

They thought Imax was lowballing the price and that it would mainly help the big Imax company, not the smaller investors.

As a result of this news, Imax's stock price dropped by about 1.87% before the stock market opened.
