Letterboxd's Influence on a New Generation 🟠🟢🔵

Martin Scorsese became the most-followed account on Letterboxd, surprising many due to the platform's younger audience.

Despite the pandemic-driven surge in users, interest in older films among Letterboxd members hasn't shifted.

This trend has boosted classic film screenings in Los Angeles and created a community for cinephiles during theater closures.

The platform's targeted ads and support for aspiring filmwriters have contributed to this cultural shift.

Users credit Letterboxd for deepening their love for cinema and influencing their careers. Some prominent figures, like Ava DuVernay, maintain secret accounts due to the chaos of their film lists.

Focus Features Acquires “The Bikeriders” 🏍️

Focus Features just snapped up New Regency's film “The Bikeriders.”

Originally set for a December release by 20th Century Studios, it got shifted to 2024 due to the ongoing actors' strike.

The crime drama, directed by Jeff Nichols, stars Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, and Tom Hardy.

It's all about the rise of a Midwest motorcycle club, the Vandals, and how things take a dark turn over the years.

The film's snagged positive ratings and was a hit at Telluride. Focus Features' chairman is thrilled to add this gem to their lineup.

This acquisition marks another win for New Regency, following their recent success with “The Creator.” Focus Features seems to have an impressive lineup ahead, including exciting titles like “Drive-Away Dolls,” “Lisa Frankenstein,” and a film about Amy Winehouse.
