“Napoleon” Scores Big, “Wish” Debuts Strong ⚔️

There's been a big splash at the box office: "Napoleon" and "Wish" are making waves.

"Napoleon" took home a whopping $78.8M globally during its first five days, surprising everyone with its success.

It's doing particularly well in Europe, with the UK and France leading the charge. Despite some critics being tough on it, audiences are still turning up, especially after some star-studded red-carpet appearances.

"Wish" debuted at $49M globally, with a solid $17.3M from international markets. Although it's not hitting it big everywhere, there's hope with some regions showing promising signs, like Asia and Latin America.

"The Hunger Games" sequel is raking in a lot internationally, and "The Marvels" by Disney/Marvel is also holding its ground. Plus, a horror film, "Five Nights at Freddy's," is making history as the biggest Blumhouse film globally.

“FF9” Fined $1M Over Stuntman’s Injury 🤕

In a shocking incident on the set of "Fast & Furious 9," filmmakers are slapped with a hefty $1 million fine after a stuntman, Joe Watts, suffered brain damage in a terrifying fall during production.

Watts, known for his work on productions like Game of Thrones and Star Wars, had a safety line detachment mishap during a stunt that was altered at the last minute.

The judge deemed Watts "lucky to be alive" and criticized the failure to check safety measures between takes.

The Health and Safety Executive, calling Watts' injuries "life-changing," emphasized the importance of minimizing risks in stunt work.

The filmmakers, FF9 Pictures, admitted to health and safety failings in court and accepted the substantial fine.

Red Palm Pictures Joins Forces with Saudi Director 🏜️

A new film company, Red Palm Pictures, is making waves in Saudi Arabia’s film scene.

Led by former Universal Pictures exec Paul Chesney, they're diving into developing movies and shows for both local and global audiences.

One of their big moves is teaming up with Saudi director Tawfik Alzaidi for a multi-film deal, starting with his upcoming action-adventure film "Thuraya."

Alzaidi, part of Saudi Arabia’s new wave of filmmakers, is set to premiere his debut feature, "Norah," at the Red Sea Film Festival.

This collaboration aims to spotlight Saudi talent and stories on a global stage, marking a significant moment for Saudi cinema's growth and creative exploration.
