"Wicker": Colman & Patel's Twisted Romance 🎣
Olivia Colman and Dev Patel, two talented stars, are teaming up for a unique and "twisted" romance movie called "Wicker."
This exciting project will be presented by Black Bear at the upcoming AFM.
In "Wicker," Olivia Colman will play a Fisherwoman who's, well, not the most pleasant-smelling person, and she stirs things up in her conservative town when she embarks on an unconventional romance with a wicker-made husband, portrayed by Dev Patel.
The story is based on Ursula Wills-Jones' short story, "The Wicker Husband," and it's set to be directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, the duo behind "Save Yourselves!"
The film will be funded and produced by Topic Studios and Tango, with several other producers on board. It's not a SAG production, and filming is planned to kick off in Europe next year.

Amazon MGM Secures "True Crime, True Faith" Series Rights 🙏

Amazon MGM Studios has bagged the rights to the intriguing Vanity Fair article, "True Crime, True Faith: The Serial Killer and the Texas Mom Who Stopped Him."
They're planning to turn it into a series, though we're still in the dark about who's going to star in it or who'll be calling the shots behind the camera.
The article, which came out in August, reveals the jaw-dropping tale of Margy Palm, a Texas mom who was kidnapped by a serial killer named Stephen Morin while she was out shopping at a Kmart for Christmas presents in 1981.
Vanity Fair has been on a roll with its articles-turned-screen projects, including documentaries like "Paradise Lost" and "The Secrets of Hillsong."
So, it's exciting to see how this gripping true crime story will unfold as a series.

Halle Berry is taking the lead in the psychological thriller "The Process," which she's also producing.
Directed by Tara Miele, the film explores the story of a seemingly content married couple who attend a self-help seminar led by a charismatic guru. As they dig into their personal struggles and the guru's "process," their lives and relationship face challenges.
The movie is being backed by FilmNation Entertainment, and they'll be selling it internationally at AFM. In North America, Verve Ventures and WME Independent are taking care of the rights.
Halle Berry has been working on various roles behind and in front of the camera, and this film aligns with her commitment to empowering women, particularly women of color, in diverse roles.

Disney's Potential $10 Billion Sale to Reliance in India 🇮🇳

Disney is on the verge of selling its Indian operation to Reliance Industries in a deal that could be worth a cool $10 billion.
This comes after months of speculation about Disney's plans to reconfigure its global operations and cut down on costs.
Unnamed sources close to the deal suggest that Reliance is valuing the assets it'll acquire at around $7 billion to $8 billion, which makes Disney India's total value approximately $10 billion.
While there were talks with other Indian bigwigs and private equity firms, it seems like Reliance is going to seal the deal. Disney's Indian operation includes Disney+ Hotstar, known for shows like "The Night Manager India" and "Aarya," and they have a strong network business.
The deal might get officially announced as early as next month, but who knows, Disney could still change its mind. Disney also has a significant linear TV operation in India, but it might not fit with their future plans.
