Emma Thompson Joins “Mediha” 💔

Emma Thompson has joined the team as an executive producer for the documentary "Mediha."

The film tells the story of a Yazidi girl who survived being kidnapped by ISIS and sold into slavery, with much of the footage filmed by Mediha herself.

"Mediha" is set to premiere at DOC NYC, and both Mediha and director Hasan Oswald will participate in Q&A sessions. The documentary will also be available on DOC NYC's virtual platform for a limited time.

The film follows Mediha's journey as she copes with her trauma and searches for her missing family members.

The documentary spans three years, revealing the lasting impact of ISIS atrocities as Mediha seeks justice.

Zelda Movie: Sony and Nintendo 🎮

Sony and Nintendo are joining forces for a live-action movie based on The Legend of Zelda video game series.

Wes Ball, known for The Maze Runner and Planet of the Apes, will direct, and Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) will pen the screenplay.

The Legend of Zelda, created in 1986, follows Link and Princess Zelda in their quest to save Hyrule from the evil Ganon.

Nintendo, after the success of the Super Mario Bros. Movie, will fund over 50% of the project, with Sony handling the global theatrical release.

The Legend of Zelda franchise has a vast fan base, having sold over 150 million units.

It has been in development for some time and is an exciting collaboration between Sony and Nintendo, following Sony's success with Marvel's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, grossing over $690 million this summer.

90 Minutes of “Gladiator 2” Already Edited ✂️

Ridley Scott managed to get 90 minutes of footage in the can for "Gladiator 2" before those pesky SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes put a halt to the production.

While the strikes were going on, Scott kept himself busy by editing what he had.

The sequel takes place years after the original "Gladiator," and it stars Paul Mescal, who's taking over the role of Lucius, previously played by Spencer Treat Clark.

Paul Mescal, in an interview before the strikes, mentioned that he's excited about the film, saying it pays respect to the first one but also allows him to put his own stamp on the role.
